Bredex GmbH has announced the planned release date of GUIdancer 3.0, their automated GUI test tool, as the first quarter in 2009. New features in this release will include a new modelling perspective for model-based testing and a new observation mode to allow testers to create reusable keywords from a running application. GUIdancer 3.0 thus offers comfortable, code-free and agile testing to teams at all stages of the testing process. Participants at the Eclipse Summit in Ludwigsburg will be able to see a preview of these features at the GUIdancer booth (29).

An Eclipse get-together was held at Bredex on 9th September 2008. Mike Milinkovich, Executive Director of the Eclipse Foundation spoke about the technical and community visions of Eclipse, followed by a short talk on Usability in Eclipse by Andreas Tauchert and Alexandra Imrie. After the talks, the Stammtisch continued in a local pub. We would like to thank all participants for coming, and look forward to the next get-together in January!

Bredex GmbH has announced the latest release of their GUI test tool, GUIdancer. The software is immediately available for download on the GUIdancer website. New features of this release include an option to retry failed test steps, compatibility with the Eclipse 3.4 Ganymede release and the ability to start applications under test easily from executable files. Alongside these features, there have been numerous improvements to the usability of the program. The addition of welcome pages, cheat sheets and new example projects will help new GUIdancer users. The automatic inclusion of the Test Case library in all projects will benefit all GUIdancer testers, allowing reusable keywords to be created quickly using drag and drop.

Under the agreement, Norsys will distribute GUIdancer in the Nordic territories and will offer first-level support to Scandinavian GUIdancer customers. The addition of GUIdancer to Norsys' portfolio benefits customers of both companies. Norsys customers have a new test solution, and GUIdancer users will have access to support from the Norsys experts in their own language.

Bredex GmbH would like to thank all visitors to their booths and presentations at STP Con in California and SQC International in Düsseldorf. Both conferences were a success, with many interesting conversations about Bredex's testing tool GUIdancer and about software testing. Bredex GmbH is pleased to have gained contacts both in Europe and in America from the conferences.

This year's winner of the BREDEX funding prize was Janine Eich. The yearly prize is awarded to a student of the University of Applied Sciences in Wolfenbütel for outstanding achievement in their studies. Achim Lörke presented Janine with her award at the graduation ceremony.
